On a balmy June evening in Los Angeles, a blond temptress floated to stage dressed as a butterfly. With her platinum 1950s hair, a full leotard complete with wings, stiletto boots and flanked by two dancers, YellaCatt and her Cosmic Kitties stood in position ready to wow the packed house.

The performer, whose real name is Daniella White, was in position. All eyes were on her for her as she owned the stage at the iconic Peppermint Club in Los Angeles. She was on a West Coast tour of the U.S. to promote her new single produced and co-written by Jonny Joon, "Dark Star."

As she starts to sing, her arms start to expand showing off her butterfly wings. Her voice takes the swooning crowd on a journey into her soul. The night continues with the crowd mesmerized by the image of YellaCatt and her dancers filling the stage with their aura. The awe inspiring performance went on for about an hour and her fans were mesmerized.

"Dark Star" and its undisguised ambiguity adds another dimension of provocative and playful energy to her music roster. Mystical hues and psychedelic references inspire the undertones of the song. The process was completely different from the duo's usual flow. "I went into the studio one day expecting to record a completely different song I was having a hard time with, and I just wasn't feeling it," says YellaCatt. "Jon and I decided to bag that song entirely and write something new. It's kind of an edgier, sexy synth-pop song."

"Dark Star" taps into her cosmic psychedelic side, YellaCatt shares. "We started playing around with various sounds and ended up creating a new track, and I immediately felt inspired to write the vocal for the chorus. It was not our typical way of writing together." YellaCatt goes on to describe a beautiful process, "We usually write the music together in the studio in Malibu. Then I fly back home to Seattle and set up candles and crystals all around me. I sit in front of my fireplace and gaze into the flames, tapping into the song and trying to be a clear channel to bring forth what the song wants to express. When we reunite back in L.A., Jon helps me refine what I've written and then we record."

Fans of YellaCatt love her for her cosmic badass attitude. "My fans love the sass, but they also really love the songs I write from my heart," says YellaCatt. "I have another song coming out called 'Born to Fly.' It's written for my niece and nephew and is supportive and heart-centered. It's a very different vibe from 'Dark Star.' This newest single is one YellaCatt describes as her favorite, "Dark Star is the name of the magic man who I'm singing to! I don't know who he is...we have yet to meet, and I am calling him in through this song. It's a pretty sexy track. I just love the attitude behind the synth progression…it's just so edgy and powerful to me and it immediately inspired me to write the vocals."

The future of Yellacatt is clear. As her fan base grows and her club appearances increase, she is one to watch. With two prominent billboards on Sunset Boulevard and more tours being planned for the future, the Seattle native continues to expand her fan base and hone her craft. YellaCatt's single "Dark Star" is available on Spotify and her new single "Born to Fly" will be out soon.
