He's a runner, not a fighter.

Unfortunately, it was Soulja Boy's fleet-footedness that resulted in his arrest Wednesday night.

The "Crank That" rapper was busted on a charge of obstruction and spent the night in jail after fleeing from an abandoned home—at which some 40 of his closest, rabble-rousing friends had also gathered—when Atlanta cops showed up, responding to concerned calls.

"Somebody had seen a large group of juveniles hanging out at this house that they knew to be abandoned," Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton told E! News. "[The responding officer] found about 40 people located behind this abandoned home. Half of the group ran from the officer, despite orders to stop."

Guess who was among those hightailing it off the premises?

In fairness, the 19-year-old, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, eventually saw the error of his ways realized he left his white Range Rover and returned to the home, where he met officers and did his best to convince them that the group of officer-fleeing juveniles were really only assembled in order to film a music video.

Too bad the officers either didn't buy it or didn't care (though they certainly seem to be leaning toward the former)...

He was arrested on the spot and charged with one count of misdemeanor obstruction for running from police after being ordered to stop.

"It was dark behind the house with no lighting," Bolton said, adding that the police report was devoid of any clues that filming was taking place. "If they were shooting, it was with no light. There was no mention of him seeing any camera or anything at all to do something like that."

Meanwhile, two abandoned vehicles were also found on the property, one containing eight counterfeit $100 bills and the other a 9 mm handgun, which has yet to be claimed.

Soulja Boy was released from custody Thursday morning on $550 bond. No comment yet from his reps.
