We'll be the first to admit that it's tough for Cate Blanchett to look bad. But it can't be easy for the actress to constantly change up her look for all those events, premieres and everything else during award season.

But leave it the Oscar-nominated star to go gracefully from messy tousled updos and faux bobs to a classic side chignon.

The Blue Jasmine star's classic hair style brought more attention to that gorgeous, neutral makeup palette of browns, taupes and mauves making her creamy alabaster skin and pale blue eyes jump out of the photo.

The best part of her makeup look? It's super easy to recreate and it makes all blue and green eyes sparkle. And as for the classic side chignon? All you need is smooth hair, a few bobby pins and some hairspray and you're red carpet ready.

Get the Look: Let's start with the hair. After blowing it out smooth, part your hair on one side and pull it to the opposite side. Divide hair into two ponytails and tie the hair into a loose knot.

Twist one piece of hair clockwise around the knot and secure with hairpins. Then, take the other piece of hair and twist it around the knot in the opposite direction and secure with hairpins. Spray entire head with a light hold hairspray and voila!  Side chignon!

To get Cate's gorgeous makeup, Cleanse and moisturize the skin with a non-greasy pore and line-filling primer that will also reflect light like NARS Instant Line and Pore Perfector.

Next, apply a creamy, weightless foundation like Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. Tip: To ensure seamless application (read: no streaks!) spray a makeup sponge lightly with water and blot face after you apply your foundation.

Then, warm up your complexion by adding a sheer peach blush to your cheeks like Jane Iredale Lit from Within Powder Blush in Whisper.  Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks in circular motions. Then, pull brush slightly upward towards the temples for an extra lift.

After hiding any dark circles or imperfections with concealer, prep upper eye area with primer or concealer. Then, cover entire upper eye area with a matte sand colored eye shadow like Sand out from the Crowd from the Tarte be MATTEnificent colored clay eye & cheek palette

From the same Tarte palette, apply Peach for the Stars eye shadow on the lids and then with a fluffy brush, apply View from the Taupe to the creases.  To make this eye pop like Cate's, apply a shimmery bronze eye shadow like Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow in 406 Pearl with a small contouring slightly above the crease and blend like crazy.

Next, take an eyeliner brush and apply the shimmery bronze eye shadow along the lower lash line and blend with a smudger or Q-Tip. To further define the eyes, line the upper lash line with black eyeliner. Finish the eyes by adding two to three coats of your favorite mascara.

Complete this subtle makeup look by applying a creamy nude lipstick like Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick SPF 18 in Nude Delight.

We kind of feel like the 44-year-old stunner has been trying out new looks all award season to choose a winner for the big night (Oscars, hello!). We're not sure which look will win but judging by her sweep at the Golden Globes and SAG awards, there's a good chance that regardless of if Cate goes edgy (we're rooting for a faux hawk) or plays it safe (side chignon or bun) she'll be taking home the statue.
