The country music family is alive and well.

Even though Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are no longer romantically linked, the talented artists didn't hesitate to participate in a special single honoring the 50th Annual CMA Awards.

In the song and music video just released, dozens of artists come together for a mashup of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads," Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" and Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You."

"When I first heard about it, it was hard to wrap my mind around it," Miranda admitted. "How many people are on three songs? How long is it? It's not very long of time to fit a lot of things in."

Fortunately, CMA board member Shane McAnally was involved and made what could be impossible, possible.

"This is one of those things where you get the phone call …and I really didn't even ask what the song was. I just said sure, I'd love to be a part of whatever you guys are doing," Blake explained. "It's one of those things where you're just honored to be in with accompanying artists."

Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill,  Keith Urban and Tim McGraw are just some of the 30 artists featured in the finished project.

"I think country music has always been described as a family and now having been in it for 12 years, I 100 percent agree," Miranda shared. "It's about the community and friends and relationships you make over the years. It's really cool that almost everybody that's part of the project had a duet together or performed together or toured together or something as a combo.

Blake would also add, "I think it's going to be one of those things where everybody is going to remember and everybody's going to have a moment…that they really connect to. It's crazy. It's magical."

The 50th Annual CMA Awards air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 2 on ABC.
