InstagramSelena Gomez is starting off 2016 looking fabulous.
The 23-year-old pop star posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, a day after New Year's Day, a photo of herself rocking a strapless peacock blue bikini while hanging out with four girlfriends somewhere tropical.
"Left my phone behind to be present!" she wrote. "I am so grateful for the people I've met this year but more importantly for the people who have been consistent and by my side through thick and thin. That'd be YOU. Thank you for another year! Love you guys!"
Gomez started off 2015 single, having ended a relationship with Justin Bieber several months prior after dating him on and off since 2011. In early December, she and One Direction singer Niall Horan, 22, spent some time together, sparking romance rumors.
Career-wise, she flourished: She worked on and released her second studio album, Revival, as well as the hit singles "Good for You (featuring A$AP Rocky)," "Same Old Love" and "Hands to Myself." She was also featured on Zedd's song "I Want You to Know." In November, Gomez performed at the 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
But Gomez, who has often appeared in bikini photos, was the target of body shamers earlier this year. She has spoken out against the criticism.
"It's not even about my weight," she said in a radio interview in September. "It's just that I'm not going to give a f--k what people say—sorry!"
