Like we said earlier this week, when it comes to killing spiders, desperate times call for desperate measures!

That being said…dude. What did you learn about open flames and gas stations?

Fox 2 Detroit is reporting that a man who was trying to kill a spider using a lighter forgot common sense and instead lit up the entire gas pump.

Thankfully, he thought quickly and ran to get the fire extinguisher. He put out the flames before the fire department arrived, but the pump (and probably the spider) was destroyed.

Despite the embarrassing display, the man returned to the gas station the next day.

"He was sorry," Susan, an employee said. "He was sorry, he said he didn't know. It is just one of those things that happen, stupidity."

Susan saw the whole thing happened while he was working and turned off the gas pump as soon as she saw the flames. Reportedly, the guy admitted that he's deathly afraid of spiders and seeing it on his gas tank cover threw him into a panic.

Personally, we don't think fire is enough to kill those awful creatures that were definitely sent from hell to scare us all. First they are crashing cars and now they are starting fires?! These spiders must be stopped.
