You thought we were going to hear the news and not share it with the world? As if!

In what will probably make your Thursday that much more enjoyable, E! News learns that a Clueless musical is totally happening. Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the '90s classic, spilled the news during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, explaining that a musical version of her story is currently being developed.

"I've written the, what they call 'the book' and it's a jukebox musical," she told ET, but didn't offer any details about which songs will be featured (however, we're really rooting for a breakout dance number to Coolio's "Rollin' With the Homies").

But who could possibly take the place of Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, Stacey Dash and Paul Rudd?! That's going to be quite the task, and even Heckerling knows that.

"Well casting—that's like going to be like the main problem," she admitted.

The writer-director did confirm, however, that Kristin Hanggi—best known for directing Rock of Ages—is set to direct and Dodger Theatricals is producing. They're the same production group responsible for Jersey Boys, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the original Broadway run of Into the Woods.

The movie celebrates its 20th (!) anniversary in July, Silverstone actually spoke about the film's long-lasting significance in an interview with the Today show on Wednesday.

"I mean, I think Amy Heckerling is so brilliant...She just touches on a time and a period," the now-38-year-old actress told Today.

"And the amazing thing about this movie is that it's still being discovered. I love when older people, like grandparents, tell me that they love this movie. That's very odd and wonderful. And then little people who are just discovering it now—it's just being passed on. It's timeless. Even though it captured that time so well it seems that people really identify with it."

Are you wiggin' as much as we are about this news?! Can't wait to see this come to life, but until that happens, we're audi.
