Is Shailene Woodley done with the Divergent movie franchise?

It's unclear, but the actress insists she's not in the know about Lionsgate's plan to possibly produce the last film in the series for TV with the aim of launching a television show based on Veronica Roth's books.

"I honestly have no idea what's going on with Divergent," Woodley told me today while promoting the upcoming Edward Snowden drama Snowden (in theaters on Sept. 16) at San Diego Comic-Con. "I know as much as you do."

The story broke in Variety yesterday that the fourth Divergent movie, Ascendant, may be turned into a TV movie after the third installment Allegiant wasn't as successful at the box office as the first two.

The industry publication reported that the TV movie would include Woodley and her movie co-stars Theo James and Ansel Elgort while also introducing characters that would be a part of the television series.

"It's really convenient that we're doing all these interviews now and I get asked this question [about Divergent]," Woodley said, possibly referring to the timing of the Variety story and her appearance at Comic-Con.

Ascendant was slated to start shooting this summer and scheduled to premiere in June 2017.
